I have had more and more interest in Vespa lately, and every day I am hearing reports back from folks who have had great success by making Vespa part of their training plan. I wanted to repost a link that will lead you to some great information about the product, and answer some of your questions. (Click the picture.)
I started using Vespa faithfully after my first 50 miler. I always hated having to rely on gels and gummies, and after quite a few hours of running, I usually had a hard time digesting them anyway. With Vespa, I am able to take in much fewer calories, and still be able to think clearly, and maintain an even energy level. For my hundred miler, I used Vespa every two hours or so, and grazed at the aid stations, and never bonked. Best of all, I was clear headed the whole time.
Like any form of nutrition or any training plan, one size does not fit all. Vespa may not work for you, but if you are going on long runs/rides, and you are looking for an alternative to gels, it might be worth a try.
Read up on it on their site. It is a different kind of product, and you will have to change the way you plan your nutrition, but for me, it has been well worth it. If you have any questions, feel free to call (706-8763) or come by the shop (906 Harding St) to talk.
